Hello and greetings from Knoxville! I can't believe it's been almost two years since I've posted on this blog. The last time I was here, I was sharing the tale of our family's exodus from Southern California to Eastern Tennessee and the story behind the move. Rather than bore you by picking up where I left off (we moved, we love it here but we miss everyone in LA, blah, blah, blah...), I'm just jumping back into sharing the recipes (and the stories behind them) that make my family and friends happy. If you want the whole story of our quasi-Green Acres experience (and it's a DOOZY!), you'll have to wait for the book. That is, the book which I promise to write one day when I have the time, probably after Charlie and Elizabeth start driving. Or go to college. Or turn 40. It's important to have goals.
So much has happened since we last visited. My kids graduated from 8th grade after a crazy quarantine-interrupted, transition-packed year and completed their freshman year of high school. We (well, mostly Sean and his team, but I helped!) produced another fun food filled season of Food Paradise for Cooking Channel, bringing our total episode count to just under 200 so far. We've been settling in to our new house and meeting great people. It's been a whirlwind for sure, but we're going with the flow and growing where we're planted. Life is good.

In the coming months, I'm hoping to post a few new recipes each week. If there's anything in particular you'd like to see, please let me know. We are adventurous omnivores in this house, and I'm always up for trying new things, testing recipes and sharing them with you. I'm also working on offering live cooking classes for a small fee, both over Zoom and in person. If that's something you'd be interested in, let me know about that too.
I'm so happy to be back here cooking with you. It's been too long. Let's make something good.
